No matter your sleep position, ear canal size, or budget, there is an earplug out there for you.

Earplugs can play a huge role in your sleep quality. They block everyday sounds, such as a loud neighbor or a snoring partner, so you don’t wake up needlessly in the middle of the night.

We’ve put together the 4 BEST earplugs for sleeping. They’re all different materials and types and come in a range of functions and prices.

We’ve also put together a list of things to think about before you hand over any cash for your next pair of earplugs. Sweet dreams!

0:45 – Bose Noise-Masking Sleepbuds – These high-quality earplugs are really a hybrid of an earplug and a headphone. They wirelessly sync to an app on your mobile device and stream ambient sounds from a preloaded library. They also have their own alarm, so you can wake up (and hit snooze) as many times as you want without waking anyone else up. They’re pricey though, coming in at $250 for a pair.

1:28 – Mack’s Slim Fit Foam Earplugs – These simple foam earplugs are a great fit for smaller ear canals or those with sensitive ears. The smaller fit means the plug has a small diameter, so it’s less likely to rub against your ear and you won’t have to stuff the plug in your ear to make it fit, only to feel it pop out at night. They’re super affordable at 50 pairs for just $10.

2:35 – Ohropax Classic Wax Earplugs – These German-made wax earplugs are super customizable. Simply pull away the cotton cover with clean hands and use as much of the wax ball as you want to seal your ear. The wax warms up quickly in your hand and is super mold-able. You can get 6 pairs for just $6.

3:36 – PQ Sleep Reusable Earplugs – PQ Sleep’s reusable earplugs are three-tiered silicone earplugs that fit nicely into your ear and can be worn for multiple nights. They should work for all sleep positions.

  1. I had a phase of sleeping with earplugs. I think it caused me to get a gnarly ear infection and I haven't done that since. I do however need something for when I go on trips with my friend. She snores

  2. Many thanks, I been tryin to find out about "natural herbs stop snoring" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across – Joomestyn Apnea Secret – (do a google search )?

It is a great one off product for getting rid of Sleep Apnea and snoring without the normal expense. Ive heard some super things about it and my co-worker got great results with it.

  3. The only thing that worries me about using these things is not hearing things like smoke alarms. Good to use for short periods, but I don’t think it’s a safe thing to do longterm.

  4. I only use Mack’s earplugs and they are yellowish green color. It’s the only kind that works the best. They are foam but they are like really good foam. I pinch mine and stuff them deep in my ear. I know they say don’t do that but I have to. They fit perfect. I sleep like a baby and they sell them for 5 bucks at Walmart

  5. ehhhmm…. okay… earplugs… with ambient noise and other sounds from your phone including an alarm… you sure those aren't headphones? because they sound like headphones…

  6. Wax earplugs are not good. If your ears start to build up oil or sweat it will make them slide right out. Ive tried every affordable ear plug and the truth is, they don’t work. Some are good at reducing noise but there is not one single affordable earplug on the market that actually blocks out pounding and banging or screaming and yelling.

  7. WHAT BLOCKS SOUND COMPLETELY I CANT SLEEP CAUSE THE DOG SNORES SO LOUD AND SO DOES MY GIRL IM SANDWICHED BY VERY LOUD SNORES PLEASE HELP I need like a negative 70dB ear plug I need an specialized engineer to design the opposite of hearing aides I want to be completely deaf until I wake up by my vibrating alarm do they have this? … it is 3:18 AM and I got work tomorrow

  8. I am in need of Plugs to block out my upstairs neighbors kids stomping and banging on the floor/ceilings. I have the regular foam ones but I can still hear it pretty loud. Any Recommendations? Something to block out Low

  9. Hi there! This was excellent, thank you! I would love to wear earplugs to bed all the time. But I keep hearing how dangerous it could be and that one could get ear infections. How have you prevented this from happening to you?
